Dance, ballet, fitness, meditation and health classes

For music used in classes and courses, you can obtain a licence from SUISA under Common Tariff L (CT L). This tariff applies, for example, to Zumba, aerobics, Pilates, pump, gymnastics, dance and ballet classes.

Licences

The fee for fitness and dance classes is CHF 1.36 per lesson (for authors’ rights and neighbouring rights). For classes where music is used for less than half of each lesson, you will only pay half the fee, i.e., CHF 0.68 per lesson (plus VAT).
 

Reduction for contract customers and trade associations

If you conclude a contract with SUISA, you will be entitled to a 10% reduction provided you comply with the contractual terms and conditions.

It is even less expensive if you belong to a trade association that has concluded a collective contract with us: you receive an attractive reduction and spare yourself the administrative work.

How to proceed:

Please send us the duly completed questionnaire. We will then issue the licence and invoice. Once your payment is received, we distribute the remuneration to the beneficiary composers, lyricists, and publishers.

Background music

Please bear in mind that licence fees are also due for background music and music on hold. The same applies to  the retransmission of television broadcasts or the playing of sound and audiovisual recordings for general background entertainment.
