  • News from the Board meeting in October 2024

    The third meeting of the Board of Directors in 2024 took place at the beginning of October 2024 after the standing committees of the Board of Directors had met. As usual, the autumn meeting was dominated by business strategy.

  • “That was the best start you could wish for as a songwriter”

    SUISA member Hans Bouwens has created world hits - and yet he is hardly known. A conversation with the Dutch singer and songwriter on his 80th birthday on 8 December: Congratulations and Felicitaciones!

  • A platform for young composers

    Swiss composers deserve more attention than they generally receive today. SUISA and the Murten Classics Summer Festival are jointly launching “SUISA en scène”, a project in which young composers can present their music and gain experience.

  • “I have definitely never composed music for monetary reasons”

    The “Golden Violin Clef” award goes to Very Rickenbacher this year. This is due to the fact that the musician from central Switzerland has played an instrumental part in characterising the brass band scene over the last decades, be that as a conductor of the brass band Rigispatzen (“Rigi Sparrows”) or as an outstanding composer.

  • “That kind of fire!”

    To mark the 50th anniversary of Frank Martin’s death, the Bern Chamber Orchestra has commissioned Katharina Weber to compose a tribute to the Geneva composer, who became a member of SUISA 100 years ago. Guest author Markus Ganz talked to the Bernese pianist and composer about Frank Martin and the creation of her homage.

  • Valuable insights for music creators and radio producers

    On 29 August 2024, the Swiss Radio Day was held at Kaufleuten in Zurich. A panel organised by SUISA together with Sonart Music Creators Switzerland focused on the importance of music creators and radio stations working together.
