  • Halving initiative: A clear cutback for Swiss culture

On 8 March 2026, the Swiss population will vote on the popular initiative “SRG SSR: 200 francs is enough!” – better known as the Halbierungsinitiative (halving initiative, or initiative to halve broadcast fees). Accepting this initiative would have dramatic consequences for Swiss culture. Together with the Swiss Music Council, Sonart Musicians Switzerland and other associations, SUISA is campaigning against this dangerous initiative.

  • “New compositions are important to keep the tradition alive”

The “Goldener Violinschlüssel” 2025 award goes to Nadja Räss. The reasoning behind this is that she is “one of the most versatile, best and most exemplary yodellers in Switzerland”. She does not only interpret various types of Swiss natural yodelling and yodelling songs handed down orally and in writing, but also new compositions, most of which are her own.
