  • The renaissance of the Swiss concert scene

    The Swiss concert scene is experiencing a remarkable recovery. Venues have been revitalised after the crisis, artists are performing actively and audiences are flocking in droves. The rise is a vital step forward for the music landscape in Switzerland. The public’s longing for a physical live experience is increasing in parallel with the advancement of technology in everyday life and culture.

  • Artificial intelligence and copyright law

    Artificial intelligence is undeniably a source of innovative opportunities. Technology is progressing at lightning speed, raising issues specifically for copyright law, primarily with regard to the use in AI systems of works that are protected by copyright. At the same time, the legal notion of AI-generated output must be clarified.

  • SUISA is ready for 2024

    Just before Christmas, on 18 and 19 December 2023, the members of the Board of Directors met for the last time in 2023, the year of SUISA’s centenary.

  • Decisions of the Arbitration Commission on the Common Tariff K

    During the oral hearing on 23 January 2024, the Federal Arbitration Commission for Copyrights and Neighbouring Rights dealt with the disputed submission by the collective management organisation SUISA and Swissperform for a new Common Tariff K. The arbitration committee has extended the current tariff until the end of 2024 and announced the key points for the new tariff from 2025.

  • From songwriting to music production

    M4music, the Migros Kulturprozent (Culture Percentage) pop music festival, will take place on 22 and 23 March 2024. This year’s SUISA panel is going to focus on the music production sector. The well-established Networking aperitif for music professionals will be held again.

    Are you a SUISA member or principal and would like to compose pop songs as part of a team? Apply by 22 April 2024, if you want to participate in the 2024 SUISA Songwriting Camp.

  • 40 pieces of music that will be premiered in 100 years

    To mark the 100th anniversary of the copyright society SUISA, Swiss musicians have come up with 40 concepts and compositions that will be premiered 100 years after their creation. You can get a taste of this at the event on 16 April 2024 in Berne.

  • “The Code” was composed at the SUISA Songwriting Camp

    Just like “Watergun” last year, the Swiss entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 also comes from the SUISA Songwriting Camp. The song “The Code” was composed by SUISA members Nemo and Benji Alasu together with Linda Dale and Lasse Nymann.

  • Sustainability @ SUISA

    In recent years, sustainable, i.e. “future-proof” behaviour has become an absolute must. In 2023, SUISA has further intensified its already wide-ranging efforts to become more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
